About
Jeremy Downs
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (KY)

I began working in the mental health field in 2009. I completed my Masters in Social Work at University of Louisville in 2016 with a passion for social justice, clinical research, and evidence-based practices. After graduation I engaged in international social work abroad to expand my perspective, reach, and skill sets. Once I arrived back to Louisville, Kentucky, I started meeting individuals for therapeutic services where they were: in-home, at the office, or virtually. I have been practicing with the credentials of Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2021.
When you come to your appointment with me, I want to create a welcoming space for all individuals to come as they are. The space, whether at the office or virtual, will most likely seem remarkably personable with the backdrop of a professional experience with an evidence-based approach. My focus of treatment is for the age range of late childhood to adults. These individuals may present with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My treatment approach is primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) informed techniques, and therapeutic play. For interested individuals, therapeutic play may look like digital engagements such as Minecraft or Roblox implemented in a strategically therapeutic way. Further, my passion for social justice compelled me to assist others in exploring their own identity–in the context of a nonjudgemental space–and for individuals to find greater empowerment from within.
